Anyhow, regardless of that who would you say is the greatest "white" soul/blues singer. I personally would have to say for male: Paul Rodgers. That gritty voices gets me all the time. This era seemed to end with the "anti-singer" movement of the late 70s and 80s and the "out of tune" singers of the 90s. You just don't seem to hear the great male power singers as much anymore.
