Nike's new CEO is expected to double down on the company's efforts to repair relations with retailers to energize sales, reversing a strategy under outgoing chief John Donahoe that focused on selling directly through its stores and website.

Mr Hill is a graduate of Texas Christian University (TCU) and Ohio University, currently serving on TCU's Board of Trustees. His journey at Nike began as an intern in 1988, and over the years, he has navigated through 19 different roles, culminating in his retirement in 2020 as President of Consumer and Marketplace.

Nike CEO John Donahoe is retiring from his position and longtime company veteran Elliott Hill is returning to take the top job. Donahoe is slated to step down on Oct. 13 but will remain on as an adivsor through the end of January.
