Dick Van Dyke, who turns 99 next month, knows that aging is a gift. Not only because he’s had nearly a century of experiences, but also because he doesn’t think he’ll have to witness much of Donald Trump ’s second term in office.

In a video, the 98-year-old comedy legend casually replied that he "won't be around to experience the four years" of Trump's second presidency.

Dick Van Dyke made a grim joke after the election, implying that he would rather be dead than live through another four years under Donald Trump. The Hollywood legend, who turns 99 next month, was approached in a paparazzi video taken Tuesday (via Daily Mail) and asked,

Dick Van Dyke doesn’t think he will live to see another Donald Trump’s second term in the White House—and that’s perfectly fine with him. Dyke, who turns 99 next month, was spotted out and about with his 52-year-old wife in California when he was asked about Trump’s return to office.

Now, it’s possible Van Dyke was just referencing, like, moving to France or something, but it sure sounded like he was contemplating a trip to the Undiscovered Country, instead. Which we would rank as a pretty unvarnished anti-endorsement of the next four years of political life;
