When is the next full moon? The Beaver Moon, also a supermoon, will be a sight to see
According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, a supermoon is a new or full moon that happens when the moon is near perigee - the point in its orbit closest to the Earth. The term was coined in 1979 by astrologer Richard Noelle, who also specified that the moon must be within 90% of perigee to be a supermoon.
