A bear cub in a tree caused a bit of a ruckus at a southern California high school, photos show. The cub climbed up into a tree across the street from Crescenta Valley High School and stayed there most of the afternoon on Tuesday, Nov. 12, causing students to spend the day indoors, several outlets reported.

Multiple agencies were monitoring an adolescent cub as it sat in a tree in front of Crescenta Valley High School, unable to compel the creature to go home.

Plainfield police are monitoring after a bear was spotted early Thursday in the area of Third Place and East 9th Street.

A bear was recently spotted near two schools in Plainfield, the district said. The bear was seen near Evergreen Elementary School and Plainfield High School, Plainfield Public Schools said on social media.
