Im not sure where to fly to, either semporna to dive around that area or kota kinabalu to dive around that area. Anyone recommend which place is prefered for better availability and better dive sites? Thanks

Dive around Semporna (islands around but no dive sites at Semporna) is definitely better than Kota Kinabalu, those island and beaches are beautiful but not much to see under the sea.
Hi, visiting Semporna between 17-20th of May. would like to find out if there's any way of getting a permit for snorkelling on Sipadan without staying in one of the resorts? Would very much appreciate any info as we're a bit confused how we can go about this at the moment. Thank you Bea

You may check at few operators like Borneo Global Bacpakers or Uncle Chang but it will be hard as Semporna is quite a way from Mabul (1 hour aaprox boat ride) and from Mabul to Sipadan is still approx 0,5 hour. It will cost aroud 600-700 ringgits
